Main page in EnglishHi!
My name is Sergey Bujnovsky, I am the founder of this site, directed to render the feasible help for people with Parkinson’s disease.
I live in Ukrainian town Cherkassy.
In 1986 I took part in” liquidation works” campaign on the Chernobyl atomic power station.
I was 19 years old.
A destiny was turned with black side то me and in the age 25 I remained alone with a four-years-old daughter and the son about two years old, - my wife has died in 1991.
And in addition to all that I fell ill with Parkinson’s disease.
I think that my "Parkinson” life experience is the vivid evidence of what difficulties and a hardship encounter people with the diagnosis "Parkinson’s Disease” in Ukraine.
In Ukraine I have passed a way of diagnostics and treatment starting from a local polyclinic and up to National medical academy!
And then I have learned that the professional level of Ukrainian physicians is the lowest of all possible.
Wrong tables of drug reception and doses became a rule instead of an exception, the accessible information on PD was not enough and to the time I have understood what is what, I have lost a year and a half of my life.
The matter is that the most effective medicine stays effective around 7-8 years and after that nothing helps in general.
It took me a surtain time to "unmount” painfully from this "needle”.
When I had not enough money to buy the drugs I was pressed to reduce a dose of tablets.
There are medicines (already on sale), which slow down an illness current, but they are too expensive for the pensioner.
I wish to share experience and knowledge about PD with other patients, counting only in Ukraine more than 70 thousand persons and at this point I hope on within your power’s help.
My name is Stas, I'm 71 and I am ill with Parkinson’s disease.
Parkinson’s disease is not curable, but it can be slowed down by proper treatment. I lived in Ukraine, but 10 years ago I moved to Israel, where the treatment of Parkinson’s disease is on much higher level and is available for everyone. My Internet- friend Sergei is now only 43, he suffers with Parkinson since 2002 and he lives in Ukraine, the country with population about 47,000,000 where about 100,000 its citizens suffer with Parkinson’s disease. This country is now involved in hard recession and to that has deeply corrupted government. Most of people, suffering Parkinson's disease, are left by government and society for suffering and survival by themselves.
Our main task for current period of time is to collect minimal sum of money enough to buy the bus –"Office on –the-wheels”. This bus could serve us as an office and at the same time it would give us the chance to move all over Ukraine to communicate with people and to share our experience of struggling against this illness. The special feature of this bus is its passenger armchairs possibility to be transformed (15-18 sits) from transport position to office like so that it is convenient to hold meetings in the bus with the maximum conveniences. Specificity of illness demands presence in the bus of a toilet and 3 - 4 folding beds for sleeping. The meetings of people, suffering with Parkinson’s disease by small groups of 15-18 persons is very effective way for psychological and social support of patients; this is proved in many countries. Sergey and I are intended to establish an organization, directed to render all possible help to ill people. The conception of this organization is based fully on an international experience for helping people with Parkinson’s disease.
